You don’t always know what kind of help you need—or how to ask for it. Perhaps a letter is difficult to understand, everyday tasks feel overwhelming, or you’re looking for a service in a new country.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before taking a first step. Sometimes, that step is simply asking: “Where do I start?”
Throughout our first campaign, we introduced two BaltHUB tools for Ukrainians in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania: Lachin, the TWIIN AI assistant, and a separate contact directory. Here’s how each can help.
A conversation with Lachin
You can describe your situation to Lachin by voice or text, in your own words. There’s no special format to learn and no need to prepare the “perfect” question.
You might begin with:
- “There’s a lot I need to do after moving, and I don’t know where to start.”
- “I received a letter I don’t understand. Can you help me make sense of the wording?”
- “I want to ask an organisation for support. How can I explain what I need?”
Lachin can help you work through a question, understand an explanation or consider a manageable next step. You can also ask him to explain something more simply.
He is an AI assistant—not a live consultation with a professional. Use the conversation as a starting point, and confirm decisions about health, legal rights or other important matters with a qualified specialist. Lachin does not replace emergency services.
A directory for finding organisations and services
When you’re ready to look for an organisation, use the contact directory. It is separate from the conversation with Lachin and is available on the BaltHUB website and through the Telegram bot.
The directory lets you look for services by location or type of support, including medical, psychological, legal and social services. Once you find a relevant entry, you can use the listed contact details to ask the organisation about your situation and the support available.
You don’t have to speak to Lachin first. If you already know what you’re looking for, you can go straight to the directory.
Your next step can be small
During this campaign, we explored everyday questions, demonstrated the tools and explained their different roles. The main takeaway is simple: you can start with the situation you’re in, without knowing every answer in advance.
A conversation can help you put a concern into words. The directory can help you find an organisation to contact. Each tool has its own role—and you can choose whichever fits your needs.
Open BaltHUB now to start a conversation with Lachin or access the contact directory.
