The RefAid BaltHUB Study Visit to Lithuania has begun in Vilnius, bringing together project partners, coordinators, service providers, community representatives, experts, and stakeholders from across the Baltic region.
The visit takes place from 22 to 26 September 2026 and is designed as a space for learning, experience exchange, regional coordination, and stronger cooperation between partners in Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia.
The study visit is part of RefAid BaltHUB’s regional cooperation activities. Its aim is to strengthen collaboration, exchange practical experience, and learn from different approaches to supporting Ukrainian refugees and people in vulnerable situations.
This time, participants are hosted by Association Demetra, the Lithuanian partner of RefAid BaltHUB. During the visit, Demetra will share its practical experience in HIV-sensitive and inclusive service delivery, peer-led support, referral pathways, community-based assistance, and cooperation with institutions and civil society organisations in Lithuania.
The programme combines several formats: partner and stakeholder meetings, field visits, discussions of service models, strategic planning, project coordination, and networking.
Participants will explore practical approaches related to refugee support, integration and reintegration, peer-led services, digital support tools, and referral pathways. The programme also includes meetings with organisations working in migration support, community services, harm reduction, and support for Ukrainian communities in Lithuania.
For RefAid BaltHUB, a study visit is more than a series of meetings. It is an opportunity to see how different approaches work in practice, compare experiences across countries, identify common challenges, and develop ideas that can strengthen support systems across the Baltic region.
The visit also creates space to strengthen professional relationships, build trust between partners, and explore new opportunities for future cooperation.
Over these five days, teams from three countries are working toward one shared goal: making support for Ukrainians and vulnerable communities more accessible, inclusive, safe, and responsive to real needs.
5 days. 3 countries. One shared goal — to make support stronger.
