In August 2026, RefAid BaltHUB continued supporting Ukrainians across Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania through consultations, referrals, peer support, emergency assistance, support groups, and other services.
During the reporting period, 225 unique beneficiaries received support:
- 82 in Estonia
- 50 in Latvia
- 93 in Lithuania
These numbers help us understand the scale of the project’s work. But they do not show the full story behind each request.
Across the three countries, RefAid BaltHUB provided 276 peer counselling sessions, 72 legal counselling sessions, and made 47 referrals to relevant services.
The project also supported 7 support groups and 5 events, creating opportunities for people to receive information, connect with others, and access community-based support.
For some people, assistance was needed during particularly difficult moments. In August, the project recorded:
- 31 emergency support cases
- 9 integration and family stabilisation cases
- 6 emergency housing cases
- 23 voluntary return-related counselling sessions
- 3 supported returns
Each of these indicators represents a different type of support. One person may also receive several services depending on their situation, so these figures should not simply be added together as one total.
Statistics are essential for monitoring, planning, and understanding where support is needed. But there are things that numbers cannot capture.
They do not show how difficult it may have been for someone to send the first message. They do not show the uncertainty behind a request for legal advice, the relief after finding temporary housing, or the moment when a person finally understands what their next step can be.
For RefAid BaltHUB, both parts matter: the results we can measure and the people behind them.
The project continues working across Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania to make support more accessible, confidential, inclusive, and responsive to the real needs of Ukrainians in vulnerable situations.
